Clean Energy Durham Receives Vaunted “Give a Dam” Award at 7th Annual Beaver Pageant

In between the bawdy jokes, the colorful and unusual performances by people’s favorite – Cherry Cherry Bang Bang DaBeava, overall winner – Fur Pelton John, other contestants, and occasional flash-mob-esque dancing, the devoted members of the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association reminded Saturday’s 7thAnnual Pageant goers of the real purpose of the day, to preserve Ellerbe Creek, and to recognize how others in the community can help. Tucked into the ceremonies, as contestants were answering the important question of how to attract more beavers to town, Original Beaver Kaferine de Nerve took a moment to present Clean Energy Durham with the “Give a Dam” award, honoring our efforts to preserve the area’s natural resources through our energy education workshops.

Thanks to ECWA for a fabulous community event! And thanks for teaming up with Clean Energy Durham to preserve Durham’s natural resources!
