Durham Event: Get Your Grass Off Gas

May 12, 2011 at 4:00 pm Leave a comment

Durham’s City-County Sustainability Office is holding its second lawn and garden equipment trade-in event (Get Your Grass Off Gas Trade-In for Cleaner Air) to encourage use of electric-powered equipment as alternatives to gasoline-powered lawn and garden equipment.  Gasoline lawn and garden equipment are “highly polluting when running” and contribute to poorer air quality and higher local ozone levels.

Durham’s City-County Sustainability Office has partnered with Black and Decker to provide electric alternatives at substantially reduced prices with the trade in of an equivalent gasoline-powered model.

Available Equipment

  • Lawn mowers
  • Hedge trimmers
  • String trimmers
  • Garden cultivators
  • Chainsaws
  • Edgers
  • Pruning saws
  • Leaf blowers

Date & Time

Saturday, May 14 at Jordan High School, 6806 Garrett Rd.
