Wine-Down Was A Success!

More than 130 people braved the approaching storm and ensuing downpour to celebrate with Clean Energy Durham at our 2nd Annual Downtown Wine-Down at Alivia’s last Thursday.  Guests had a chance to learn more about Clean Energy Durham while relaxing with a glass of wine or beer.

Would the weather hold?  After setting up for Clean Energy Durham’s 2nd Annual Downtown Wine-Down in a blanket of humidity, Alivia’s owner Jason Sholtz checked in with his smartphone to learn that a big storm was brewing just minutes away.

Clean Energy Durham fans are persistent, though, and some stayed out on the patio through the initial rain and drizzle but were finally driven in by the windy rain.  We loved the mixed crowd, which included some longtime Clean Energy Durham fans and some totally new to our work.  We proved that loyal Durhamites will show up to fun events despite precarious weather.

Many thanks to all who helped make the event a success.  Hats off to Alivia’s, who arranged the food and wine AND music with the fabulous Mysti Mayhem.  Businesses all over town generously contributed to the silent auction.  We appreciate your support.
